Sheep Tracker App & Web Site Privacy Policy

Return to SheepTracker

Summary

The purpose of Sheep Tracker (the "Service") is to create a privacy-oriented location sharing service, and this policy explains what information we collect about you and how we use it to create the Service.

Our key principle is to collect and store (if necessary) the minimum required personal information to perform the functions you require of the Service.

Sheep Tracker is a service owned and provided by Mark Hughes, who can be contacted at help@sheeptrack.net. This privacy policy applies to the Sheep Tracker - Sports Location Sharing Android application and the web service provided at sheeptrack.net.

What do we collect and store, and why?

Account Information

When you create an account, your email address will be stored by the Service until you choose to delete your account (visit the Profile page within the app or on the web site to do this). This is stored to allow you to manage your account, and we will send emails only relating to your use of the service. If we offer paid services within Sheep Tracker and you subscribe or purchase these, this email address will be used for communications relating to such subscriptions.

Unless you explicitly opt in, we will not use your email address for our own marketing, and this consent can be withdrawn by you at any time from the Profile page within the app or on the web site. We will never use your email address for third party marketing, or sell or transfer your email address to any third party except where required by law.

Location Sharing Feature

This application is designed to share your location. In order to do this, if you choose to use the location sharing feature, two key pieces of information will be stored and shared with other registered and unregistered users of the application and website. By using the location sharing feature, you consent to your location information being processed in this manner.

We do not store the history of your location, and we expire the final location update from the service no more than 48 hours after the later of the finish time of the event or the time of the last update sent by your device. You can choose to remove the stored location at any time by resetting your event progress, de-registering from the event, or deleting your account.

Despite this, as the purpose of this feature is to publicly share your location, you should be aware of the potential for other registered or unregistered users of the Service to monitor and potentially store your location updates as they happen. If you are not comfortable with this, you should not use the location sharing feature of this service.

Events are not listed publicly for any individuals other than the creator and users registered to that event. However such events can be viewed by any registered or unregistered user of the Service who has been given the shareable link or event code. If you are not comfortable with this, you should not use the location sharing feature of this service.

Cookies and other identifiers

Cookies are files with small amount of data that are commonly used as an anonymous unique identifier. These are sent to your browser from websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.

This Service utilises certain third party technologies to provide functionality and monitor service usage, and these may make use of cookies and other identifiers such as your device's Android Advertising ID and your IP address in order to perform these tasks.
